Roundtable Membership

The Academic Medical Group Leadership Roundtable meets twice yearly for an open and secure exchange of ideas and information during a 3-day roundtable session on topics identified by members.

  • Who qualifies to become a Member of the Roundtable?
    Members of the Roundtable include those executives who have strategic and/or operational oversight of the medical group or faculty practice plans of an academic medical center.
  • How do I become a Member of the Roundtable?
    Contact us directly through this website. Someone from the Membership Committee will respond and help you with the application process.
  • Is there a Membership Fee?
    Yes, it is $2,500 and covers the meeting logistics including all conference expenses and meals.
  • What does the Membership Fee include?
    The Membership fee includes two annual networking meetings in the Spring and Fall, and access to the Roundtable members and presentation materials. There is also a list serve available for soliciting input on issues or questions.
  • Can I attend a meeting before deciding whether or not I want to join?
    Yes, we encourage you to attend one meeting as an invited guest to get to know the members and the value of the meetings. The Roundtable will cover your conference expense, excluding travel and hotel.
  • Is the Membership in my name or the name of my health system?
    The Membership is in your name and associated with your medical group and/or health system.
  • What if I want to cancel my Membership?
    You may cancel at any time. Membership fees are nonrefundable.
  • Is there a cap to the number of Roundtable Members?
    There is no stated cap; however, Roundtable membership is relatively small and has ranged between 20-30 members over the last several years.
  • How do communications take place among Members? How are ideas shared?
    Most communications take place either through direct contact, through the Roundtable committee structure, and at meetings. There is also a list serve available for posting questions to members.
  • What are the expectations of me as a Member?
    You are expected to attend the annual meetings, actively participate and share pertinent information, and respond to member questions and any relevant surveys as appropriate. There is also an opportunity to serve as an officer and/or on the Membership Committee.
  • How are topics for discussion determined?
    Members volunteer to plan each meeting and solicit feedback from the Roundtable as to interested topics and presenters. The topics tend to be relevant, timely, and broadly applicable to medical group leadership, strategy and operations.
  • Is there a leadership structure to the Roundtable?
    Yes, there are three officers – Chair, Vice – Chair/Secretary, and Treasurer. These members are nominated and elected by the full Roundtable membership. In addition, there is a volunteer Membership Committee.
